Oleksandr Zinchenko West Ham links are the beginning of the end for Aaron Cresswell
West Ham have been credited with an interest in Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko – and that could spell the beginning of the end for Aaron Cresswell.
As revealed by 90min on 9 June the Hammers have reached out to representatives of the Ukrainian international over a potential summer move.
With David Moyes making his stance clear on securing the left-back, it could indicate that the West Ham boss is looking for a replacement for Cresswell.

The left-back has been at the club since 2014 and has enjoyed a hugely successful time at West Ham, particularly in the 2021/22 season.
However, Cresswell turns 33 in December and is certainly reaching the end of his career.
Cresswell’s performance was clearly declining towards the end of last season and the Irons should be looking to move him on this summer.
He was firmly to blame on two occasions in the Europa League with the left-back getting sent off against Lyon in the Europa League and then again in the semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
His dismissal against Frankfurt indicated a player whose decision-making is starting to decline.
He got himself in an awful position, tried to play the ball when he couldn’t and then decided to take the player out when through on goal.

His rash decision had a huge impact on the outcome of the Irons semi-final defeat in Germany.
However, it was also revealed by 90min that Zinchenko wants to be utilised in a midfield decision should he depart the London Stadium.
Despite that Ukranian potentially not being a direct replacement, it would not be a surprise to see Cresswell be gradually moved out of proceedings.
His contract is up in the summer of 2023, so it would not be a surprise to see the veteran defender leave the club this summer.
