Nottingham Forest want to sign West Ham defender Emmanuel Longelo

EFL Championship club Nottingham Forest have emerged as suitors for West Ham youngster Emmanuel Longelo, per ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers insider reported on his West Ham Way podcast that Forest wanted to sign the 21-year-old.

He has now claimed that other clubs are keen and that the Hammers can sanction a permanent exit as well.

Ex wrote, “Longelo’s potential move to Forest, which we exclusively broke to you all, is still being discussed with other clubs showing an interest in the player as well as other academy players discussing loan moves as we speak too.

“Longelo could be allowed to leave on a permanent deal and the fee is currently being negotiated.

“A loan move may also be explored as an alternative.”

Must keep him

Earlier this season, it seemed like Longelo was on the cusp of making his Premier League bow.

According to Claret and Hugh, the “impressive” left-back was considered to fill in for the then injured Aaron Cresswell.

It’s a shame to see him leaving permanently if he does end up going permanently.

If West Ham feel that’s the right course of action then they must at least include a buy-back option in the deal.

It could be good for his development to get some regular minutes, but his future could lie at the London Stadium and he would certainly be adored by the fans as well.
