Middlesbrough plot move for exit-bound West Ham player Ryan Fredericks

Middlesbrough are reportedly plotting a move for the exit-bound West Ham right-back Ryan Fredericks this summer.

According to The Mail on Sunday (June 12th, page 144), the Championship club are seriously considering signing the Englishman.

Fredericks, who has already confirmed that he’s set to leave, will become a free agent once his deal expires on June 30.

West Ham

Makes sense

The 29-year-old has struggled to keep himself fit and even whenever he’s available, has not put in good performances.

There was no chance that the Hammers would want to give a liability like him another contract to prove his worth.

At best, Fredericks is a Championship player and we think he’ll do well at Middlesbrough.

Their right-back Djed Spence looks set to leave this summer, given the fact that a number of Premier League clubs are keen on his services.

Fredericks could go in and replace him and we hope that he can maintain a level of fitness that lets him play in the majority of games.

His chapter at West Ham did not end as he wanted to, but he still has chances to make amends in the Championship.

The league is less competitive there and his experience of playing in Europe as well as years in the top flight are going to help him.
