Mark Lawrenson predicts result of West Ham v Wolves

West Ham will face Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday (27 February) and it’s a must-win game for them.

The Hammers drew their previous two games, but BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has backed them to return to winning ways.

West ham suffered a blow in the race for the top-four after Arsenal won 2-1 against Wolves on Thursday (24 February).

Lawrenson said, while predicting a 2-1 win for the Hammers, as quoted by the BBC Sport website: “Wolves are always tough to beat but they played on Thursday at Arsenal, which will help West Ham who have had a full week off to prepare for this.

“The Hammers need a win too, after two draws in a row. Those weren’t bad results in isolation but if they want to maintain their challenge for fourth place, then they can’t afford to drop any more points this weekend.”

Big game

This is probably “the most” important game in West Ham’s season thus far.

If they are serious about getting into the top four, they must find their form and get back to winning ways. Anything less than a victory will be seen as a defeat.

The Hammers started the season on a flying note but they are struggling to keep the pace at the moment, with many citing fatigue could be an issue.

The squad needed some new faces in January but West Ham failed to make necessary additions.

The goals have dried up and there is over-reliance on Jarrod Bowen to deliver in every single game.

It’s a game they have to win. They have a good one-week rest and Moyes must have prepared his side extremely well for this clash.

The midfield is also another area that needs improvement with some of the players badly struggling for form.
