Marc Rochon joins West Ham as new analyst, he played role in Vlasic arrival

West Ham have hired Marc Rochon as their new anaylst and he played a role in the club signing Nikola Vlasic on deadline day, according to The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas.

Scottish-born Rochon worked with the Croatian national team during the European Championships in the summer.

Vlasic, 23, incidentally put in a man of the match performance for Croatia in their group stage win over Scotland, in which he scored in a 3-1 win at Hampden.

Writing on The Athletic website, Thomas reports that Rochon provided David Moyes with “favourable reports” about Vlasic before the Irons swooped to sign him from CSKA Moscow on deadline day.

Emphasis on recruitment

With David Sullivan stepping back from the ins and outs at the London Stadium, the ball is firmly in Moyes’ court when it comes to transfers.

Rob Newman is already set to join the Irons as their new head of recruitment and he’ll get ready to start his work at the club ahead of the January transfer window.

Moyes is assembling quite the team behind the scenes at the London Stadium – and he’s doing all of this having already been so impressive in the transfer market.

While we’re yet to see what Moyes’ newest recruits can do at West Ham, including Vlasic, all of the manager’s additions since he returned to the club have been incredible.

Craig Dawson, Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen, Jesse Lingard, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have all been superb and all of them played massive roles in our Europa League qualification last season.

With new players added and only Lingard lost, it will be interesting to see how far Moyes can actually take this team.

In other West Ham news, the club was in deadline day talks to sign this title-winning forward from Europe.
