Lewis Jones: West Ham will beat Manchester United
Sky Sports’ predictions guru Lewis Jones has claimed that West Ham will eke out a victory against Manchester United later today.
The Hammers play host to the table toppers before this week’s fixtures on Sunday afternoon.
A win for the London outfit would see them go into the top four and end the gameweek there.
That’s precisely what Jones has gone for in his Sky Sports column, predicting a 2-1 for West Ham.
He wrote, “Manchester United remain an overrated team by the markets. Cristiano Ronaldo, of course, makes them stronger in the final third but as a team they are being rated very closely to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
“The Hammers have scored in 18 of their last 20 home matches and even though Michail Antonio is suspended, their defensive organisation and skill on the counter-attack is capable of creating big chances against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.”
Good chance here
Man United’s heads will have dropped after a midweek upset at the hands of Young Boys.
It may be the perfect time for David Moyes to play his former side and show them what they’re missing on.
He wasn’t given enough time to prove himself there and since then he’s revolutionised his career and also has taken West Ham to the next level.
The fans would want to win this, that’s for sure, but it would mean a lot more for Moyes than it would to them.
Antonio’s absence may prove costly, but history has suggested that the Manchester outfit have struggled on their trips to East London and we expect them to drop points again on Sunday.
