Lee Carsley told to start West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen v Finland in Bukayo Saka admission

Darren Bent has told Lee Carsley to start West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen for England against Finland in a new Bukayo Saka admission.

The Irons attacker came off of the bench in the Three Lions first game of the September international break, impressing in his cameo as he took the place of Harry Kane at the top of the pitch.

Carsley is expected to make several changes to his starting XI for Tuesday (10 September) night’s clash and talkSPORT pundit Bent has urged him to start Bowen suggesting that Arsenal star Saka needs a rest.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday (10 September, 17:14) he said: “West Ham United fans are talking about Bowen, play him.

“That’s my point, Saka’s played 90 minutes already why do you have to go and play him again? I’m not saying Arsenal players are more important.”

Will West Ham star Jarrod Bowen start for England at Wembley?

West Ham supporters will likely have mixed feelings over whether or not Bowen should start for England against Finland.

While they would of course like to see one of their stars on the international stage, they won’t want to lose another player to injury.

With Niclas Fullkrug facing a spell on the sidelines after he returned from international duty with Germany, Julen Lopetegui’s side cannot afford to lose any more attacking players days before the Premier League returns.

While Bowen remains on the England bench, he isn’t able to pick up a knock and therefore he won’t run the risk of missing the clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday (14 September).

The 27-year-old has once against started the campaign in impressive form, picking up from where he left off at the London Stadium last term and it would not be an overstatement to suggest he is West Ham’s most important player.

Hopefully, he will return to East London unscathed no matter what decision Carsley ultimately makes.
