Lazio make £8m approach for Felipe Anderson – report

Serie A side Lazio have been in touch with Felipe Anderson’s entourage and are looking to sign him for £8million from West Ham this summer.

Per Sky Sports journalist Manuele Baiocchini, Lazio made fresh contact with Anderson’s representatives on Friday.

Manager Maurizio Sarri is keen on bringing the player back to the club and believe a fee of £8million would be enough to achieve that.

Thus far, there has been no mention about West Ham’s response to this development, but whatever happens, they will be making a major loss on the player they signed for an initial club-record £35million to Lazio with the deal potentially rising to £42million with performance-based add-ons. Need to get more

While Anderson hasn’t exactly set the world alight at West Ham, selling him for £8million would be a huge shame.

The club hierarchy had to have planned the transfer after thorough scouting and that’s the reason they sanctioned the money to buy him.

Undoubtedly, his resale value would’ve been a major factor in convincing the decision-makers to bring him to the club.

This is not an earth-shattering resale price and if we don’t fail to get it done, it will just show how things internally still require fixing.

Sabah dubbed the player ‘world-famous’ when they reported on Galatasaray’s interest in so we’ve got to do everything we can to drive up his price and maybe bring the Turkish side back in the picture by offering him at a higher fee.

There’s no denying that he needs to go and get his wages off our payroll, but we’re not here to be charitable to other teams and mess up our own transfer structure in the bargain.
