Jeff Stelling hits back at what West Ham United fan said live on talkSPORT, ‘Don’t be daft’
Jeff Stelling has hit back at a West Ham fan after he was accused of being upset by the 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday (27 October).
Jarrod Bowen scored the winner from the penalty spot, following a rather contentious decision, which saw the Hammers secure victory at the London Stadium after goals from Crysencio Summerville and Casemiro.
The former Soccer Saturday presenter is often accused of bias against the Hammers, and one fan could not wait to message the radio show to aim a shot at Stelling.
Messaging into talkSPORT [28 October, 6:31am], West Ham fan, Jim, said he could “hear the pain” in Stelling’s voice before the presenter said: “Don’t be daft. I don’t care who wins between West Ham and Manchester United.
“I don’t support either of them. I’m just saying that you were rotten in the first half and you got lucky in the second half.”
West Ham United claim important win over Manchester United
Whether the Hammers deserved all three points against the Red Devils or not, Julen Lopetegui certainly deserved a slice of luck when it comes to preserving his job at the London Stadium.
The Spaniard has been under pressure ever since arriving in East London, attempting to fill the shoes left by David Moyes, and that pressure does not look to be going anywhere anytime soon.
However, if the Irons can use this victory as a building block, and secure positive results against Nottingham Forest, Everton and Newcastle United, the tide could be turning for the new coach.

The contentious decision will be up for debate for weeks, especially now with the news of Erik ten Hag’s sacking at Old Trafford, but the moment will already be behind Lopetegui and his team.
While all three points were secured at home, the performance was far from ideal, with Man United given plenty of chances to finish off the game and take three points back to Manchester.
