Jamie Carragher does not see West Ham ace Bowen replacing Salah at Liverpool

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher does not see West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen replacing Mo Salah at Liverpool.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to Anfield and Carragher spoke about that link after Jurgen Klopp praised Bowen.

However, due to Salah’s unblemished injury record, Carragher does not see Bowen getting game time as they both occupy similar positions.

He said on Sky Sports Main Event, “There’s talk of Liverpool’s interest in him and you can see why with the goals and assists he gets, but also the positions he takes up.

“He plays very narrow, as Liverpool’s wide players do.

“But I just think it’s always difficult for Liverpool to ever buy anyone in that position when you’ve got Mo Salah. Not just his quality, but he very rarely misses games. He’s as important for West Ham as I think Mo Salah is for Liverpool.”

Hope he stays

Liverpool have recently signed Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota so they may not need Bowen in the summer.

Salah and Sadio Mane look to be there for at least another season or two so that’s not a position they would look to spend big on.

If Bowen is to leave West Ham, it will most probably be for a club-record fee so the Hammers will be compensated heavily.

However, that’s not something the fans or David Moyes would want.

There’s a chance to build this attack around Bowen and that is something the Scotsman would certainly fancy should he commit his future to the club.

In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘Brilliant’ Chelsea player who will tick a major box for David Moyes.
