Hansi Flick attends London Stadium as West Ham United to seal new manager

West Ham United are considering Hansi Flick to become their new manager after attending a match at the London Stadium, according to Daily Mirror.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition (29 April, pg 49) that the ex-Bayern Munich and Germany manager attended a match earlier in the season and could be a potential replacement for David Moyes.

Flick has been out of work since his dismissal by the German national team in 2023 and would be a huge coup for West Ham if Moyes departs at the end of this season.

West Ham United want big name to replace David Moyes

West Ham are aiming high when it comes to the identity of their new manager – all whilst failing to confirm whether or not David Moyes is actually leaving the club.

However, the fact that West Ham appear to be actively courting names such as Flick, Ruben Amorim and Paulo Fonseca, suggests that a parting of the ways after five seasons with Moyes is inevitable.

Moyes’ side reversed a two-game losing run by holding title-chasing Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium on 27 April, showing that the Hammers’ squad aren’t giving up on the Scotsman – or their fight to finish in the European places.

The Irons remain eighth in the Premier League table with three matches games to play this season, albeit five points behind Manchester United in sixth, with most of the teams around them having games in hand.

If West Ham hope to bring in a big name like Flick this summer, securing a place in Europe for the fourth successive season will certainly stand them in good stead, and doing so would be the best possible parting gift that Moyes could leave at the London Stadium.

In other news, David Moyes was criticised as a double transfer has been mooted.
