ExWHUemployee: West Ham not in talks with Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo
West Ham have reportedly not opened talks to sign Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo this summer despite him being on Rob Newman’s radar.
According to ExWHUemployee, any reports of the South Korean international joining the Hammers are premature and likely to be untrue.
While Newman admires him, the club have not yet made an approach to the forward currently plying his trade in Ligue 2.

Ex wrote, “Whilst West Ham have always been keen to bring in a top quality Asian footballer due to not only their footballing ability but the marketing power too, reports of Hwang Ui-Jo joining us from Bordeaux appear to be very premature and likely to be inaccurate.
“The player is not currently in talks with the club although he has been on Rob Newman’s radar. A move to West Ham at this point is not expected.”
Relief
West Ham do not need to sign another striker this summer as they have more pressing issues in other departments.
They need another midfielder, left-back and possibly a left-sided attacker as well after they sealed the services of Gianluca Scamacca.
The Italy striker is expected to be a regular starter week in and week out and he’s got Michail Antonio to serve as his deputy.
Left-back appears to be the area David Moyes wants to prioritise as of now and there appears progress in that aspect as they’re not giving up the chase to sign Filip Kostic.
We understand that Moyes and Newman are locked in fresh talks and a fresh bid could be submitted in the coming days.
