ExWHUemployee shares if West Ham United contact agent of former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini

West Ham have reportedly not made contact with the agent of former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

According to ExWHUemployee, David Moyes hasn’t yet asked about the availability of the 35-year-old who’s currently plying his trade at the Chinese club Shandong Taishan.

If Moyes were to prioritise a move for him, it would only be on a short-term basis.

Ex wrote, “The club have confirmed that there has been no contact at this point with a former Moyes favourite Marouane Fellaini’s agent, despite reports elsewhere that there had.

“The Belgium international currently plays in China and is now 35. Moyes worked with him at Everton and then signed him at Manchester United. It has been said that if Moyes was to ask for the player (which he hasn’t yet or even indicated there is a chance) the club would only consider a short term appearance based contract.”

Good news

Moyes does not need Fellaini to be at a third Premier League club with him and he’s better off without him than with him.

The Belgian thrived for him at Everton but then struggled at Manchester United before eventually being made a target man and then being sold.

There were always doubts over what his best position is and even if he was in his prime, signing him made little sense.

He may have won multiple awards for being the best overseas Belgian player, but he’s not what the club need right now.

The Hammers need a mobile attacking midfielder who can play in the pockets and set up chances for the attacking players and get the midfielders into the game.

Lucas Paqueta and Declan Rice ideally should be playing in a two-man midfield with someone of that ilk playing in front of them.

Tomas Soucek has struggled in a Hammers jersey this season and the decision makers at West Ham seem to be considering a sale sooner rather than later.
