Edson Alvarez destroyed after what he did at West Ham United
Edson Alvarez runs around like a “headless chicken” for West Ham United, Gabby Agbonlahor says.
The former Aston Villa striker believes the Mexico international is one of the “bad signings” at the London Stadium after the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday (29 December).
Agbonlahor feels Ajax are “laughing” after the Irons spent big money to sign the midfielder in 2023.
Speaking on talkSPORT (30 December, 8:19), the 38-year-old said: “Alvarez in midfield, Ajax must be laughing.
“They got £35million for him, and he doesn’t look like he’s good on the ball, just a headless chicken running around. They’ve got some really bad signings.”

Julen Lopetegui has failed to bring the best out of most players at the Irons this season, and Alvarez has been one of them.
The Mexican was a key player for the East London club under David Moyes but has regressed tremendously over the last few months.
In the loss to Arne Slot’s team, the 27-year-old looked like a fish out of water and struggled to cope with the Reds’ attackers.
Alvarez has had some moments to forget at West Ham in the current campaign, with pointless bookings behind most of his performances.
The Hammers had found a bit of stability before the Liverpool fixture, but the frailties under Lopetegui were once again exposed, piling the pressure on him once again at the London Stadium.
While the Irons aren’t planning on selling the midfielder in the January transfer window [GiveMeSport, 8 November], they need to buy cover for him in the middle of the park.
David Sullivan seemingly needs to revamp the whole team going into January and it will be interesting to see how long the Mexican survives.
