Eddie Nketiah’s new Arsenal contract a hammer blow for David Moyes
West Ham are set to miss out on Eddie Nketiah after previously being in the driving seat for his signature in what is a hammer blow for David Moyes.
As first reported by David Ornstein on Wednesday [25 May], Nketiah is set to sign a five-year contract to remain at Arsenal.
It had been reported by the Daily Mail [9 May], that the Irons were in pole position to take advantage of Nketiah’s failing transfer talks.
This is a huge blow for West Ham.
The 22-year-old would’ve been a free transfer and he possesses the finishing ability that Moyes’ side desperately require at the top end of the pitch.
The Arsenal striker has a knack for scoring goals, which cannot be taught and some youngsters desperately lack.
Nketiah would’ve provided a different option up-front for the Hammers but now Moyes must reassess his options.
Furthermore, Nketiah coming on a free transfer would’ve saved Moyes a lot of his budget to utilise on other areas of his squad.

West Ham have spurned some big chances this season in crucial games.
Michail Antonio has done well up front but he is not an instinctive finisher like Nketiah.
Moyes must forget about the Nketiah saga quickly and focus his attention on adequately bolstering his front line.
The Arsenal man easily looked the best value on the market, so now the pressure is on Moyes to find the right man to challenge Michail Antonio up front.
