Don Hutchison includes West Ham star Declan Rice in Team of the Week

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has been included in Don Hutchison’s Premier League Team of the Week.

The former Hammers midfielder was blown away by Rice’s “Man of the Match performance” against Everton on Sunday.

The England international had yet another terrific outing for West Ham and helped them keep a clean sheet against an in-form Toffees side.

Explaining why he named him in his Team of the Week on PL Fanzone, Hutchison, a BBC pundit, said: “He was phenomenal. Put in a Man of the Match performance. Can’t see who comes in for him.”

Great game

This seen we’ve seen Rice playing in a more advanced position and that’s not been affecting his game one bit.

He’s been given the license to roam forward by David Moyes and has tried to make things happen in the final third for West Ham.

Tomas Soucek has yet to hit the levels he showed last season, but Rice has just picked up from where he left off.

He seems to be just as hungry for the ball and continues to boss the midfield with aplomb for the East London side.

Still only 22, Rice is playing with the maturity of a midfielder in his peak and it’s terrifying to think just how far he can go if he continues to improve in the same way.

Hopefully, he commits his future to West Ham, but given how good he’s getting and his ambitions to play in the Champions League, he may look for a way out this summer.
