Decision regarding future of West Ham target Gianluca Scamacca likely next week
West Ham target Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca’s future is likely to be decided next week, as per Corriere Dello Sport print edition (page 24).
The Hammers are in the market to sign an attacking player ahead of the next campaign to bolster the squad.
For this purpose, they’ve been linked with a move for Scamacca and have already offered a fee in the region of £35 million.

As per the latest report, the clubs are in discussion regarding the future of the Italy international and a decision is likely to arrive next week.
Scamacca is an athletic forward, known for pressing the opponent’s defenders from the front and not giving them any space. He also matches that mobility with what he offers with the ball at his feet.
The Italy International was arguably the standout player for Sassuolo in the 2021-22 season where he scored 16 goals in 36 league appearances and had a ratio of 6.82, according to Whoscored.

Those numbers suggest why West Ham are keen on making a move for Scamacca as they clearly cannot go into another season with just one striker where they are likely to take part in four competitions, including the UEFA Conference League.
As of now, Michael Antonio is the only outright striker in the squad but he has faced injury concerns in the previous campaign.
Therefore it is important that West Ham must push to get this deal over the line as soon as possible.
