Chelsea set to pull out of race to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice
Chelsea may be unlikely to make a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in the summer, according to Claret and Hugh.
The reliable Hammers insiders have referred to the situation at the Blues as an ‘armageddon’ which could have disastrous repercussions for them.
This would mean that Rice may never get to play with his best friend Mason Mount at club level again, which comes as welcome news to Hammers fans.

It is a mess at Stamford Bridge and Roman Abramovich is paying for all his associations in the past.
What’s happening in Ukraine is terrible, but the UK government and Chelsea know they have to do everything they can to distance themselves from Russian oligarchs.
Abramovich has been sanctioned and may not even make anything from the Blues’ sale, if that goes go through.
Whoever the new owner is, will certainly have to work under different realities at Stamford Bridge.
This could mean that a possible transfer ban or a cap on transfer fees could be imposed.
Rice looks likelier to leave for other Champions League clubs like Manchester City or maybe even Liverpool.
We would be surprised if Manchester United is still viewed as a viable destination.
