Carlos Corberan discusses West Ham loan player Mipo Odubeko
Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan is unsure about the future of West Ham starlet Mipo Odubeko.
Speaking to Yorkshire Live, the Spaniard revealed that the 19-year-old is showing some signs of “frustration”.
However, he isn’t sure if the Irons will recall Odubeko or not, despite him barely featuring for the Terriers this season.

He said: “He’s a player that for me still needs the adaptation process to compete in the Championship.
“For me now, after a little bit of frustration that can appear in your career when you have some expectation and after the reality is different … for me, he’s in the process to manage well this type of situation.
“Being honest, I don’t know because these are things that do not depend on me.
“What I’d like is to have him here in the club. It’s true that [you’ve not seen] him, and it’s normal that people are asking why he’s not been on the pitch, but our commitment with any player we’re working with is to develop them because, for me, it doesn’t make sense to just give minutes, it’s important to see the development of the player.
“We have a lot of commitment because when West Ham send us a player, our highest commitment is with the player, to develop him. That’s exactly what the club wants.”
Odubeko’s future is still unclear.
Since joining the Terriers in the last summer transfer window, the forward has made just four appearances in the Championship.
These matches only total 64 minutes on the pitch, which is not a good record, and you would hope that he can play more between now and January.
If not, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Hammers recall Odubeko and send him somewhere else.

This move to the Championship should have been the 19-year-old’s chance to make an impression and show that he can cut it in England’s second tier.
However, it is up to the club to try and give him a chance, while Odubeko must also prove that he deserves to play in the first team.
Judging by what Corberan said, it appears as if they want to keep the forward at the club, but perhaps he needs to show more and force his way into the side.
