Bayern Munich ‘about to close’ deal to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice

Bayern Munich are “about to close” the signature of West Ham ace Declan Rice, according to Marca journalist Jose Felix Diaz.

Diaz noted that the Hammers and England midfielder would be a “great signing” for the Bundesliga outfit.

Rice could be in line for his final West Ham match when they take on Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday (7 June).

“Bayern Munich about to close the signing of Rice,” Diaz wrote on Twitter. “Great signing.”

Great signing indeed

Of course nothing official has been confirmed by Rice, Bayern Munich or West Ham, but it would definitely represent a superb signing for the German outfit.

Despite lifting the Bundesliga trophy, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel will be keen to strengthen in various areas, with the addition of Rice certain to improve the club’s midfield.

They are comfortable enough when it comes to the league, but Bayern now need to kick on and bring another Champions League trophy back to the Allianz Arena, and they would certainly be in contention to do that with the England international at the heart of their midfield.

But Rice’s complete attention will definitely be on the upcoming European final with his current club, with the lifting of that trophy set to be the perfect farewell for the beloved Hammers captain.

Fans will be gutted to see him leave, but they will thank him endlessly for his service over the years, particularly if it ends in silverware.

It will definitely be a sad day when he does exit the London Stadium, but it really has been a long time coming, with the midfielder deserving of playing at a higher level.
