Andy Gray and Richard Keys discuss incident in West Ham v Liverpool
Andy Gray and Richard Keys were in unison over Sadio Mane’s goal for Liverpool against West Ham on Saturday.
The Hammers ended up losing 1-0 and Mane’s strike was the deciding factor.
A similar goal was disallowed when Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net and it led to some controversy in the aftermath of the game.
Speaking on Bein Sports, Gray said, “I don’t want to see goals disallowed for this sort of thing. They’re so close I wouldn’t want to see a goal disallowed.
To which Keys responded, “Top of the sleeve here and top of the sleeve, there cannot be that much distance. I have no idea why they’re so far apart.
“When it’s like that, it should be given. Lukaku’s should’ve been given too.”
Right call
The decision making in the Premier League this season has been ridiculous, to say the least.
Lukaku’s goal deserved to have stood and Mane’s unfortunately, was the correct call.

While it cost the Hammers a point, it is how the rules should have been applied all season.
If it doesn’t look like an offside to the naked eye and it comes down to armpits and sleeves, the benefit of the doubt is given to the attacker.
This encourages teams to attack more and score more goals and it’s rare to see VAR coming out as heroes from a game.
In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘Brilliant’ Chelsea player who will tick a major box for David Moyes.
