Alphonse Areola set to start for West Ham v Southampton
Second-choice Alphonse Areola is reportedly set to start for West Ham as they take on Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday (March 2).
According to Football London’s Thomas Clark, the rarely-seen Frenchman is set for the number one jersey with Lukasz Fabianski not even making the matchday squad.
Darren Randolph is expected to come in as a backup and is set to be on the bench for this one.

Win this
Areola’s future at the club is still uncertain as he was signed on a loan deal but still has not won over David Moyes.
Fabianski has not had his best season at the club but is still ahead of him in the pecking order.
Today will be a good time to prove to Moyes why he deserves to be at the club and win over the Scotsman’s trust.
Areola is years younger than Fabianski and could be the club’s long-term number one if the hierarchy deems him the ideal fit.

Nothing makes the fans happier than a cup run and the Hammers have the opportunity of going on another one here.
They enjoyed a terrific one in the Carabao Cup when they beat Manchester United and Manchester City in back-to-back rounds.
It would be great if they enjoy a similar run of form in the FA Cup as well.
