Alan Sugar takes brutal swipe at Karren Brady over West Ham on The Apprentice

Alan Sugar could not resist taking a swipe at West Ham United to Karren Brady as the Apprentice made its return to the screens last night.

Hammers vice-chairman Brady is one of the advisors to Lord Sugar on the hit BBC One show and the former Tottenham owner often likes to get a jibe in at the Irons.

While in the boardroom during the final segment of the Apprentice’s season opener (30 January, 45:30), Sugar made a wisecrack about West Ham.

“It’s very synergistic to football for example, you go in at half-time three nil down,” Lord Sugar said.

He then turned towards Brady and said: “You’re used to that, aren’t you?”

Brady then replied with: “Fine one to talk with your team.”

West Ham United need to get things back on track

While the Hammers aren’t exactly involved in the Premier League relegation battle at the moment, it feels like if they don’t manage to bring in a couple of new faces before 3 February, they could be in some trouble.

Julen Lopetegui was the wrong hire at the start of the season and while some of the players he brought in over the summer such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka helped improve the team, it still feels like a lot more should have come from their summer window.

Now that we’re at the end of January, the fact that Potter hasn’t added any new talent to his ranks is a bit of a cause for concern, especially when you look at how light they are in the number nine role.

If the Hammers don’t want to find themselves dragged into the relegation battle, things need to start to get in motion to change, otherwise they could be left in the dust.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers could be set to lose another senior behind-the-scenes figure after Tim Steidten.
