West Ham predicted XI v Liverpool: Coufal to be rested, Johnson starts

It could be too early for Vladimir Coufal to start back-to-back games and he could be rested for the West Ham v Liverpool game later today (Sunday).

The Czech Republic international picked up a groin injury and was ruled out of action since the international break.

Recently, he got back to action and played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Genk on Thursday night.

West Ham

While he normally would be starting whenever he’s fit, David Moyes now has the option of playing Ben Johnson, who has performed exceptionally in his stead.

Craig Dawson and Issa Diop both came into the eleven for the Europa League game and they’re expected to make way.

Alphonse Areola was also far from convincing and there’s no reason why he would start over Lukasz Fabianksi later today.

At centre-back, Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna seem to be finding an understanding and we expect them to come back into the eleven.

Aaron Cresswell, who never seems to get tired, will retain his place, having the small matter of Mo Salah to deal with.

In midfield, Mark Noble is expected to make way for Tomas Soucek, despite the Czech’s own goal against Genk.

West Ham

Said Benrahma scored a brace and will be retaining his spot in the team, but Manuel Lanzini could make way for Pablo Fornals.

Arthur Masuaku, who also started in an advanced position, will possible de dropped and Jarrod Bowen will be handed the license to get into the box and wreak havoc.

Michail Antonio started that game and will be playing his second game in a week.
