West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Roma defender Jan Ziolkowski.

With three games to go, and the Hammers occupying the bottom three, transfer plans will be placed on hold for the time being.

However, there will already be some that have been put into place at the London Stadium, with the World Cup likely to force clubs into doing early business.

Several stars have already been linked with a move to the Irons, as they look to bolster a squad that has severaly underperformed.

And according to reports abroad, Ziolkowski is on West Ham's radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Roma set asking price for Jan Ziolkowski

Max Kilman has had another shocker of a season, while Axel Disasi and Konstantinos Mavropanos have been forced to carry the weight of West Ham's defence.

As a result, it's expected that the Hammers will look to add more quality in that area, with a report from il Romanista stating they are at the front of the queue to sign Ziolkowski.

The 20-year-old defender has started just five times for Roma in the Serie A this season, with his last start in all competitions coming back in January.

It's claimed that West Ham will have to pay around £17.2million to land the Polish centre-back.

Ziolkowski could spell bad news for pursuit of Axel Disasi

Given the lack of gametime he had prior to his move to West Ham, Disasi has had an excellent season in the Premier League.

The Hammers remain keen on a permanent deal, though their reported interest in Ziolkowski may put that in doubt.

It's claimed that the Roma star wants assurances over gametime, and if a move for Disasi is given the green light, it's unlikely he would get that here.

At this stage, it may be a case of one or the other, and based on this season's showing, Disasi would be their best bet.
