Tomas Soucek 'probably won't be at Millwall' after West Ham star threatened - Jim White
Tomas Soucek has been pushing to return for West Ham United's Dockers Derby clash against Millwall.
The midfielder suffered an ankle injury while away with Czechia at the World Cup, and is yet to feature for the Hammers this season.
The 31-year-old pledged his future to the Irons before travelling to North America earlier this summer, committing to help the club get promoted back to the Premier League along with Jarrod Bowen.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side currently sit first in the Championship after seven games, and head to The Den in search of a massive three points on Saturday.
The Irons will be hoping to shake off a midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham by winning their fifth Championship contest in a row.
But West Ham may not be with Soucek, as Jim White reacts to the latest clip of the midfielder that's circulating online.
Jim White says Tomas Soucek 'probably won't be there' vs Millwall
Soucek is said to be back on grass at Rush Green, and involved in some parts of first-team training.
A video emerged online of the former Slavia Prague star in a shop, where presumably a Millwall fan threatened to physically assault him at The Den, stating he would "cut" him.
White was speaking with Danny Murphy on talkSPORT on Friday, as the pair reacted to the video.
White said: "He was out in public; he was coming out of a shop and was more or less warned to stay away from The Den. This individual [was] supposedly a Millwall fan.
"Soucek probably won't be there; he's currently out with an ankle injury, and hasn't played for West Ham this season."
Murphy then alluded to how similar interactions like this made him uncomfortable when he was a footballer.
It could be that, following such a threat, West Ham take the sensible decision to let Soucek stay at home, especially if he is still unable to play.
The problem is that, knowing Soucek, he will most likely want to be there to witness such a historically important game for the Irons.
What has Nuno said about Soucek in latest update?
Nuno has provided a team news update ahead of the Dockers Derby, delivering the latest on several players.
Edvin Austbo has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons at West Ham recently after coming out and claiming that he wants to move to a "bigger club" after the Hammers.
Nuno defended the young winger, while revealing that Joel Veltman is still unfit for the clash.
The West Ham boss also provided an update on where Soucek and Alphonse Areola are at.
Nuno said, as quoted by The Athletic's Roshane Thomas on X: "Soucek and Areola are getting better."
Whether Soucek actually travels to The Den remains to be seen, though White expects him to be absent once more amid the latest threat directed at him.
