Meet the West Ham United brothers making waves at Rush Green after latest U21s antics

West Ham United have two new youngsters they should be getting excited about.

The Hammers pride themselves on having a good academy, and have brought through some top-class talent in recent years.

The likes of Declan Rice, Divin Mubama, Freddie Potts and more have come through the ranks in E20 in recent years, with some top talent being used this season.

Interestingly, club officials did not bring Nuno Espirito Santo an expected overhaul of new players, partly down to the trust of Rush Green products like Josh Ajala, Ollie Scarles and Lewis Orford.

The Irons believe they have a perfect blend of experience and youth to help fire them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

However, the development of Jephthah and Jethro Medine may be something for West Ham to keep their eyes on.

Jephthah & Jethro Medine makes waves in latest U21s scenes

Jephthah played the majority of his football last season for West Ham's U21s.

He scored five times and assisted three goals in 22 appearances in the U18s Premier League, while he also played in the U18s Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup.

The left-winger played three times for the U21s at the back end of last season, and now looks set to keep a permanent place in Mark Robson's team for this campaign, and will feature alongside his brother, Jehtro.

The Irons' U21s beat Aldershot Town 3-0 in the National League Cup on Tuesday, with Jephthah scoring a quick-fire brace in the 32nd and 35th minute.

All three goals in total were assisted by Jethro, who plays on the opposite flank.

The 19-year-old is two years older than his brother, and already has five goal contributions to his name for the U21s this season.

Both the Medine brothers are now playing together after previously featuring for different age groups, and could cause further havoc at Rush Green this season.

West Ham fans will be curious to see how the Medine brothers develop in E20 over the coming years, with potential for a lovely story to unfold at the London Stadium.

However, the other goal scorer against Aldershot, Daniel Cummings, is one of the older figures in the U21s setup.

The 20-year-old joined the Hammers from Celtic for free last summer, and has netted eight times in less than 30 games so far.

The summer window just gone felt like the perfect opportunity to let Cummings go out on-loan and spread his wings, rather than have another season playing for the U21s.

The Scot has a big frame at 6,1", and could benefit from a move to a League One or League Two side, but West Ham haven't been able to land him a move away.

West Ham have been better at promoting their youth talent recently, but they still need to look after them along their way to the first team.
