Frankie Day contract: What we know as West Ham youngster agrees terms at London Stadium

Frankie Day has signed his first professional contract with West Ham United.

The Hammers are hoping to have more success with their youth talent moving forward, and have been taking care of several contract situations recently.

Day has signed fresh terms at the London Stadium, after previously being with Tottenham Hotspur for nine years.

The attacker has been described by the club as "clinical" and joined from their London rivals in the 2025-26 season.

He was at Rush Green on Monday to put the finishing touches on his deal, and will be hoping to have another impressive campaign.

West Ham have high hopes for Day, who is now delighted to be a professional player for the Irons.

Day has played three times in the past for England's U15s setup, and has excelled since making the move from Tottenham last season.

He managed to grab an assist on his debut for the Hammers' U16s, which came in a 2-0 win over Reading in March.

The 17-year-old has had success for the Irons in trips to York and Prague, and has started the 2026-27 campaign well in the U18s Premier League South.

West Ham announced the news on their X account on Monday, and the player himself has spoken out.

Day said: "I’m absolutely buzzing to have signed my first pro deal. Ever since I’ve been a little kid it’s been my dream to be a professional footballer, and today’s the day it’s come true

"Now I just want to keep going. Getting a pro contract was one of my goals, and now I’ve done that. I just want to keep scoring more goals."

Day, who was born on 5 May, 2009, is a right-footed centre-forward and has a natural ability to find the back of the net.

The Wrexham-born talent has plenty of admirers in E20, one being academy director Kenny Brown, who could not be happier for the Englishman's early progression since joining from Spurs.

Day has a long way to go before he breaks into Nuno Espirito Santo's first team, but he's certainly on the right path.

The West Ham boss will clearly let young players have the chance to play if they earn it, as seen with the likes of Lewis Orford and Ollie Scarles.

Academy director Brown has spoken about his delight at Day signing professional terms with the Irons.

He said: "Frankie obviously came in last season, and he’s been excellent from day one. He’s a really good character, he’s well-liked by everyone, and he’s fitted into the group really well.

"He’s got the pro contract now and a bit of stability, and now he’s got an important year ahead of him. He can see there’s a pathway here at West Ham."

If he continues on the same path, fans could see him at the London Stadium sooner rather than later.
