Konstantinos Mavropanos has his heart set on an exit from West Ham United, according to reports.

Nuno Espirito Santo deserves immense praise for the way he has turned around West Ham's fortunes, but none of it would have been possible without Mavropanos.

The former Arsenal defender has had a season to remember for the Hammers, and his efforts at the back have been instrumental in West Ham's climb out of the relegation zone.

Reports emerged earlier this week that Mavropanos was set to be rewarded with a new contract for his efforts in the Premier League.

But instead, West Ham are bracing for an exit for the centre-back, with interest from abroad.

Borussia Dortmund mooted with interest in Konstantinos Mavropanos

Given how he has performed in the second half of the season, interest in Mavropanos was nailed on, but the expectation had been that he would stay.

That may no longer be the case, with a report from Florian Plettenberg stating that he is "set to leave" the Irons to pursue a new challenge.

Borussia Dortmund are said to have discussed his signing internally, though West Ham are expected to set a high valuation.

Mavropanos joined West Ham in a deal worth around £15million, with any deal in the summer likely to see the Hammers receive at least double that.

West Ham have already identified the perfect Mavropanos successor

If Mavropanos is to leave, West Ham need to replace him adequately.

And with Oscar Mingueza linked with a move to the London Stadium, he may be the perfect candidate to replace him.

The Spaniard looks set to leave Celta Vigo on a free transfer in the summer, with several Premier League clubs mooted with an interest.

Given the likelihood of first-team football, West Ham may hold an advantage.
