Joel Piroe's form in front of goal will be crucial to West Ham United over the coming festive period.

Taty Castellanos, whilst not playing particularly badly, hasn't lit up the Championship from a goalscoring perspective like many expected.

Indeed, the Argentine international has just the one league goal from his opening seven games this term.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is currently tying Jarrod Bowen for the Irons' golden boot race with four goals each.

As a result, Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking for more from his strikers as we enter the meat and bones of the 2026-27 campaign.

Piroe is a proven goalscorer at second-tier level, and the Suriname international appears ready to really start firing soon.

What did Joel Piroe say about his individual international break?

After pledging his allegiance to Suriname back in January, Piroe has since won one cap for the Caribbean nation.

The FIFA-ranked 128th team in the world did play four CONCACAF Nations League group stage games during this recent international break.

Piroe, however, was not part of that squad, and thus has been continuing to work with West Ham over the last few weeks.

Posting to his Instagram story on Wednesday, the Leeds United loanee made it clear that he's feeling good ahead of the Championship's return.

"Used the break well. Sharp sessions and minutes in the legs!" the 27-year-old wrote, as he looks to win his sixth start of the league season this week.

So, what his Piroe's career goalscoring record against Friday night's opponents QPR?

How many career games has Piroe played vs QPR?

West Ham are likely to go off favourites to claim all three points when London rivals QPR come to the London Stadium on Friday night.

However, Julien Stephan's side are no pushovers, as they currently sit sixth in the table and seem to have made significant strides from recent seasons.

They've also only conceded seven league goals as opposed to West Ham's 11, so their defence may prove tough to breach.

Per Transfermarkt, Piroe has played against the R's eight times in his career across his spells with Swansea and Leeds.

From those outings, however, he's only scored twice and has lost as many games as he's won: three.

Nuno will really be hoping his words on social media transition onto the pitch then, as the Hoops haven't been particularly kind to Piroe over the years.

With just one goal from his last four appearances too, many may see this as Piroe being overdue a goal though.
