Everything Jurgen Klopp has just said about Niclas Fullkrug after West Ham exit
Niclas Fullkrug is the talk of an entire country in Germany.
West Ham United fans won't believe it, but he's been sensational since returning to Werder Bremen on loan.
Seven goals in all competitions and the top scorer in the Bundesliga, things couldn't be going better for the striker.
It's a long throw from the disastrous period at West Ham that saw only three goals in 29 appearances.
Tim Steidten won't be forgiven for the £27million spent on Fullkrug at the London Stadium.
But, it may have finally worked out for him as Jurgen Klopp assesses him for the German national team.
What has Jurgen Klopp said?
Fullkrug himself has said he'll always be ready for his country.
Despite that, he's also had enough of being asked about it, demanding that those wishes be respected by local media.
So, with the November international break getting closer, what does Klopp think?
Speaking to DAZN on Wednesday during Champions League coverage, he said: "Niclas Füllkrug is scoring goal after goal in the Bundesliga, but he's 33. That's not my fault.
"Lionel Messi just played in a World Cup when he was, what was he, 39 or 40? So it's possible.
"First of all, I'm happy that Niclas is back and playing the way he is , because he had some physical problems – with whatever they were. And now he seems fresher than ever. So everything is good."
Nuno Espirito Santo wasn't having any of it with the German striker, who was simply never good enough for English football.
Why West Ham were right to get rid
Given that Fullkrug only scored once while on loan in Italy with AC Milan, it's clear that it wasn't a one off in England.
Some strikers are just made for certain leagues and countries, and that's very evident with Fullkrug and Germany.
Luckily for him, the Germans don't have an outright number nine, with Kai Havertz their first choice.
Should he return to the international scene, it will only increase the want for Werder Bremen to sign him permanently.
West Ham want him off the books for good, with his wages very high for the impact he's given them.
With Joel Piroe possibly set to sign permanently and join the likes of Taty Castellanos and Pablo, another striker isn't needed.
Premier League promotion is on track right now, so the added revenue of that plus clearing the books of players like Fullkrug will only make the London Stadium healthier.
