'Embarrassing' - Jamie O'Hara loses his head after what West Ham fan told him on talkSPORT
Jamie O'Hara lost his patience with West Ham United supporters on Saturday night.
After back-to-back wins over Lincoln and Swansea City, West Ham's momentum was halted this weekend.
Tonda Eckert's Southampton side came to the London Stadium and did a job on the Hammers, running out 3-2 winners.
Kuryu Matsuki and a James Bree stunner moved Saints into an early 2-0 lead, before Kyle Walker-Peters' excellent strike got one back on 24 minutes.
However, Tomas Soucek's stoppage time goal in the second half wasn't enough to earn a point, as Lewis Dobbin restored Saints' two-goal lead before half-time.
This was only the Irons' second league defeat of the season, and O'Hara took a number of West Ham fans' phone calls after the game.
What was Jamie O'Hara arguing with West Ham fans about?
An outspoken presenter/pundit, O'Hara is known for his tendency to get involved in heated debates live on air.
Saturday night saw him and Gabby Agbonlahor presenting on talkSPORT, and they took calls from a handful of Hammers supporters.
One supporter made the point that despite the defeat, they're enjoying watching West Ham in the Championship more than being in the Premier League.
O'Hara wasn't buying this at all. "You're giving it the biggen, you're in the Championship, and you're getting beat at home to Southampton. It's embarrassing," he said.
"What do you mean you're loving it? You've just lost at home. What do you mean you're loving it?
"I'm getting tired of you lot going on about 'this is football', what are you on about mate? You're talking absolute guff.
"You're playing in the Championship. Don't tell me you wouldn't rather be playing in the Premier League at half five live on Sky."
Agbonlahor then jokingly asked what O'Hara has against Hammers fans, to which he replied: "I haven't got anything against them.
"But they come on going on like 'oh yeah really enjoying the Championship'. Do me a favour."
It may be difficult for O'Hara to grasp given his Tottenham haven't been relegated to the Championship, but these West Ham fans do have a point.
West Ham fans should be enjoying Championship viewing more than Premier League
In 12 Championship games so far this season, West Ham have won six games.
That's already scraping their entire win tally of 10 games in the Premier League last term, and will no doubt be surpassed soon enough.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side have scored 32 goals so far, which is only 14 fewer already than their 46 in the top-flight last season.
Hammers fans have already visited old-school grounds like Lincoln City's Sincil Bank, and have renewed their rivalry with Millwall.
Supporters just want to see their team winning and playing good football, and for the most part this season, that's what West Ham are doing.
For so many years, Irons fans have had to watch relative mid-table obscurity in the Premier League, which is arguably the worst place to see your team as a fan.
But now they're undoubtedly a key player in what looks set to be a thrilling promotion race in the Championship, and you can't help but be excited about that.
This second-tier stop will hopefully be a one-year thing, but whilst West Ham are here, O'Hara should let Irons fans enjoy it.
No VAR, proper away days, three-game weeks being the norm; it may not be as glamorous as the Premier League, but the Championship is a fantastic league to be in as a fan.
