Arne Engels amazes with three 'wicked' West Ham moments vs Fulham

Arne Engels was pivotal for West Ham United in the first half against Fulham on Tuesday.

The Belgium international started for Nuno Espirito Santo's team at London Stadium on 15 September in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Rodrigo Muniz gave the Cottagers the lead, but the Hammers quickly responded after Morato found the back of the net.

Engels played a massive role in helping the hosts immediately get back into the game at the London Stadium.

The 23-year-old has taken on responsibility on set pieces for the Irons since signing this summer.

Before Morato equalised, the Hammers won a free-kick in the final third, which the midfielder delivered into the box.

Fulham cleared the subsequent corner back to the Belgian star's feet and he delivered another exquisite ball into the box for Konstantinos Mavropanos.

While the former Celtic ace won't be credited with the assist, the goal certainly wouldn't have been possible without him.

Speaking during co-commentary duties, Sam Parkin said, "Three wicked deliveries. The one from the free-kick. That [corner] into a brilliant area.

"And this is difficult from that angle. He finds his teammate on that far post, and Mavropanos continues to have a real impact in the opposition box, and Morato can't miss. Point-blank range."

A lapse in concentration on the right led to Fulham's opener after Kyle Walker-Peters and Divine Mukasa failed to shut down the threat.

The Cottagers continued to target that area and Cesar Palacios got in behind the defence to score past Finlay Herrick.

Nuno has struggled with his defensive selection after a major overhaul in the summer.

Morato joined after working with Nuno at Nottingham Forest and seems to have brought stability at left-back.

Alongside Mavropanos and Max Kilman at the back, the Brazilian defender impressed against Wrexham.

However, Walker-Peters and the right side of the Irons' defence have let the team down before the break and Nuno needs to find a solution at half-time.
