Amanda Staveley is in talks to acquire a minority stake in West Ham United, according to reports.

The financier was previously involved in the purchase of Newcastle United, alongside Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Staveley has made no secret of her interest in returning to football since that venture ended in 2024.

She has been predominantly linked with West Ham for some time, and their relegation from the Premier League has opened up an interesting possibility.

The boardroom at West Ham is in a state of flux, with Karren Brady and Tara Warren both leaving during last season, and David Sullivan also vacated his role to fight historic allegations against him.

Now things are seemingly gathering at pace, with the door being left open for Staveley.

How much are West Ham United valued at?

West Ham Zone reported last month that Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi were spotted at West Ham's London Stadium.

A report by Sky News says that Staveley is now in talks to acquire some or all of the 25.1 per cent stake owned by the Gold family in West Ham.

It added that a source said the situation is "extremely fluid" and may not result in Staveley becoming a shareholder in the Irons.

The situation is said to be complicated by pre-emption rights, which gives other existing investors first refusal on any shares that change hands.

The report also added that the share purchase talks involving Staveley value West Ham at up to £600million.

What has Amanda Staveley previously said about West Ham?

West Hams boardroom make-up is a bit of a complicated web.

Last month, it was reported that Daniel Kretinsky, who owns around 27 per cent of the Hammers, had struck a deal to purchase roughly 16 per cent of the Gold family stake.

However, Sky's report says that despite hopes of sorting that deal in a matter weeks, the "milestone has not yet been reached".

Staveley has spoken about her interest in West Ham previously, where she was coy on the situation but open about her desire to get back into football.

She said: "Maybe, you don't know.

"We've looked at a lot of clubs, including Tottenham, but we are looking at clubs around the Premier League and the UK, Europe.

"We really want to be buying, going in and investing into a club again very soon."
