West Ham takeover twist as rivals present at London Stadium with Amanda Staveley

Amanda Staveley continues to be linked with West Ham United.

The ownership battle at West Ham has been rumbling on for months now, with plenty of twists already presenting themselves.

Staveley and PCP Partners haven't shied away from the Hammers, looking to get back involved in football.

They were famously involved in PIF's takeover of Newcastle, but she relinquished that share back in 2024.

And with money already being placed on the table at the London Stadium, her presence against Wolves was no surprise.

West Ham beat their promotion rivals 4-2 on Tuesday, with Nuno Espirito Santo finally kickstarting his season.

Who was present to watch West Ham beat Wolves?

Picked up by cameras, there was no hiding from Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghoudoussi.

They even happily celebrated the goals as West Ham picked up their first victory of the Championship season.

Jacob Steinberg has reported that Staveley wasn't alone in taking in the action on 1 September, though.

Taking to X, the Guardian journalist shared that other interest parties were also present on the night.

It's said that the battle for control at West Ham is still ongoing.

Thankfully, Jarrod Bowen and Divine Mukasa were concentrating on matters on the pitch to secure three points.

Where does Amanda Staveley stand in takeover race?

She is the prominent name in all of this as Daniel Kretinsky battles to take majority control around the drama.

Staveley was said to have agreed a £125million deal for the Gold Family Trust's shares in West Ham, equalling up to 25.1 per cent.

Kretinsky and shareholders at the Irons had a first refusal on that, but not much has been heard since the start of August over that.

On top of that, Staveley and PCP made an offer to purchase David Sullivan's 38 per cent stake in West Ham.

That was worth up to £600m, but again, nothing has progressed since.

While it may not have been accepted and sorted, Staveley and Ghoudoussi's presence at West Ham's win over Wolves proves it's not dead in the water.

At the same time, with rivals also present and circling, it's very clear that this one is nowhere near close to being done.
