Amanda Staveley is looking to get involved with West Ham United by purchasing a stake in the London club.

The ownership of the Hammers has often been a point of contention among supporters over the years.

Now, Staveley looks set to join up as one of those with a slice of the E20 side, after her consortium agreed a deal to take on David Gold's 25.1 per cent share of West Ham, which is now in the hands of the Gold family.

But that deal will not legally go through until after 30 days.

However, Staveley may not stop there amid the latest emerging.

With Gold's shares, the English businesswoman's consortium would not be a controlling owner with David Sullivan still holding 38.8 per cent.

What is Amanda Staveley trying to achieve at West Ham

West Ham Zone has previously reported on Staveley's £160million bid for the Gold family's West Ham shares.

There has been plenty of change in the Hammers' board room over the last year.

First Karren Brady stepped down from her role, and Sullivan later walked away from his duties due to ongoing allegations over his treatment of women.

It had been mooted for quite some time that Daniel Kretinsky could look to take more control of the East London club, but Staveley is emerging as a possible candidate.

According to journalist Alan Nixon via Patreon on Saturday, Staveley has already reached out to Sullivan over his portion of West Ham based on what he has heard from insiders.

It has been shared that the majority owner would be open to selling with a possible price of £300m.

However, Staveley is said to have a back-up plan in order to get majority control.

A move to try and purchase Kretinsky's stock in West Ham has not been ruled out.

The Czech businessman, though, is also in a position to battle Staveley for majority ownership.

But his decision to back away from purchasing the Gold family's shares is mooted to be proof he may not plan on a tug-of-war with Staveley.

What would Staveley bring to West Ham?

If Staveley is able to land the majority ownership of West Ham, it would allow her consortium to shape the long-term strategy of the Hammers.

The English businesswoman had previously helped oversee a takeover of Newcastle back in 2021, which saw the Geordies rise up the Premier League table in the years after.

Qualification for the Champions League soon followed up north, as well as a Carabao Cup success, although that was after she had fully divested from Newcastle.

So, Staveley does have previous for helping change the fortunes of a side in English football.

And ensuring Nuno Espirito Santo and Jarrod Bowen's men achieve promotion this season would be the first goal of her life on the Hammers' board.
