West Ham United striker Danny Ings may be on transfer radar in January – Injury Expert

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...

West Ham striker Danny Ings’ injury history may not stop him from getting a move in the January transfer window, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The Hammers forward was linked with an exit this summer, with Everton being among the suitors, per The Sun.

However, any transfer for the 31-year-old did not materialise and he ended up staying put at the London Stadium.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

All things considered, his injury record is actually pretty good especially considering he ruptured his anterior cruciate in 2015/16.

The age aspect is certainly a consideration but teams will look more at his off-pitch habits to gauge longevity and that would likely be factored into his price too.

He missed out on an exit this summer but will likely be on the market in January and his previous injury record may not be an issue.

Ings appeared to be on the cusp of being the next top striker when he joined Liverpool from Southampton, but his fitness kept him from that feat.

He struggled to make an impact whenever he got the chances and was eventually sold by the Reds.

Thus far, he hasn’t set the world alight at West Ham, either, but after signing no number nine in the summer, he remains a backup option for David Moyes.

In other West Ham news, an ultimate transfer decision has been made by the Hammers on Jesse Lingard amid a recent development.
