Pundit shares what Jurgen Klopp said about West Ham star Jarrod Bowen
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Jurgen Klopp is a massive fan of West Ham star Jarrod Bowen with speculation linking the winger to Liverpool, according to Frank McAvennie.
Bowen, 25, has been going from strength to strength with the Hammers and on 9 December, the Liverpool Echo reported that the ex-Hull attacker is on the Merseyside club’s shortlist for this month.
While McAvennie doesn’t expect West Ham to want to sell Bowen, he does admit that every player has their price and is not ruling out a move away from the London Stadium for the Herefordshire-born ace.
“Jarrod Bowen is making a name for himself at the moment,” McAvennie told West Ham Zone.
“He’s been getting a lot of praise and when Jurgen Klopp thinks you’re a wonderful player and you can convince him, then you’re doing something right. And good luck to the boy, I hope he keeps going.
“He came from the Championship so it just shows you that there are good players in that league and if you can get them in, you’re doing the right things.
“You can sell them for a lot of money and at the moment, West Ham are not selling anyone. But, such is life, everyone has got a price.”
Bowen has scored five goals and supplied 10 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for the Iron this season.
There have been calls for him to earn a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad amid a stunning run of form lately.
In other West Ham news, Dharmesh Sheth reports that the Irons are in talks to seal a major striker signing this month.
