West Ham United: Alan Shearer made to look silly as David Moyes exit surely nears
Alan Shearer has been made to look silly over comments made regarding West Ham and manager David Moyes last week.
The Premier League legend, speaking on Match of the Day 2, warned West Ham fans wanting Moyes gone to be careful what they wish for.
Shearer is not alone in repeating that same line, with Stuart Pearce another who recently argued the grass is not always greener.
In the case of Shearer, it is almost like pundits are in auto pilot when it comes to United and whether Moyes should stay or go.
The problem for those pundits is that they do not watch West Ham on a weekly basis. “Look where they are in the table”, and all that.
However, on the back of exiting the Europa League to Bayer Leverkusen – no shame in that – and being stuffed by Crystal Palace, the mood has changed.
This is not just reacting on the back of one or two results, but the past couple of years as a whole. The loss to Palace really was abysmal and could well be decisive in terms of Moyes’ future.

The Scotsman was offered a new deal at the turn of the year, but it will be interesting if that is still on the table after this past week.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you want Moyes to remain in charge or leave, but to warn those fans to be careful what they wish for is now becoming a parody.
Results like the one at Selhurst Park on Sunday (21 April) only strengthen the view that West Ham could do with starting afresh this summer.
In other West Ham news, Karren Brady has revealed the Hammers came close to signing a player from a Premier League rivals last summer.
