West Ham handed Lucas Digne injury boost
Everton defender Lucas Digne is most likely to be unavailable for next weekend’s Premier League clash against West Ham.
The French full-back was with France on international duty, but did not play a single minute of football.
Ahead of the clash against Belgium, he felt his hamstring and was ruled out of that game and reports emerged later which stated he had a grade one hamstring tear. [El Bobble]
While there hasn’t been an official statement or a reliable report about how long he’s going to be out for, this does not seem like something that will heal in seven days.
Even if he does feel better in a couple of days, the club doctors are likely to advise him to sit the next game out, all but certainly ruling him out of the Hammers clash next Sunday.
This will come as a huge boost for West Ham and David Moyes as Digne is one of their best players.
An Everton side that lost arguably its most creative player in James Rodriguez this summer, has relied on Digne to provide chances on a plate for Richarlison and Dominic-Calvert Lewin.
However, without him, they don’t really have anyone who can take the game by the scruff of its neck.
More importantly, they do not have another senior left-back in the team which would mean either Ben Godfrey or another player will have to play in place of the France international.
This would mean someone like Jarrod Bowen will have a field day down the right and hopefully, three points should be in the bag for the Hammers.
