West Ham to publish financial account announcement today at 3pm

West Ham are set to publish their financial accounts for the year at 3pm on 29 December, according to West Ham news source Sean Whetstone.

The Times [1 December] reported that, while the previous deadline for Premier League clubs to publish their financial accounts was at the end of March, it has now been changed to 31 December, leaving clubs scrambling to complete them.

While there are not expected to be any issues for the Hammers based on their summer spending, largely thanks to the £105million sale of Declan Rice, it will be interesting to keep an eye on.

Writing via his Twitter account on 29 December, Whetstone shared: “West Ham will publish their financial accounts this afternoon at 3pm and I will be covering the publication with a summary and in-depth analysis.”

Any interesting developments

As is the case every year when Premier League clubs release their in-depth financial information, it will be interesting to see whether there are any surprises in terms of income or outgoing funds at the London Stadium which provide a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes workings at the club.

This could include the money gained from potential sponsorship deals, the outgoing fees paid to players and staff, or any number of under-the-radar deals which may have gone unnoticed up until now.

It will also be interesting to keep an eye on the progress of other Premier League teams with whom West Ham are competing. After Everton were handed a ten-point deduction due to financial breaches, the new releases could provide insight as to whether any other clubs are struggling financially.

West Ham

As mentioned, there are not expected to be any issues when it comes to the Hammers’ financial accounts, but they could find themselves in an interesting situation depending on the clubs around them and potential behind-the-scenes deals.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have agreed talks over the sale of one player.
