West Ham monitor Ibrahim Sangare as £43m swoop plotted for Nottingham Forest star

West Ham are reportedly monitoring Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare.

Sangare has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the relegation-threatened outfit, including 21 in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side lacks presence in midfield, and that is a huge reason why they are in the survival fight.

A report from Caught Offside on 8 March claims that the London Stadium outfit are one of several sides interested in the 28-year-old.

Sangare swoop plotted by West Ham rival

West Ham may lose out on Sangare, as the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are also interested in his services.

However, the most significant interest comes from Manchester United, who the report claims have identified the Irons target as the perfect Casemiro replacement.

It states that the Red Devils have added him to their shortlist, with a potential swoop for between £39-43million on the cards.

How has Sangare performed this season?

Sangare has been one of the standout players, despite the City Ground side’s negative plight so far this season in the league.

He has played 21 times in the top-flight, with 19 starts, and he has notched two goals and two assists, per Sofascore, which is not bad for a defensive midfielder.

He has averaged an 87 per cent pass accuracy, with 0.4 key passes per game, and completes 56 per cent of his dribbles.

Defensively, is where he really enhances the side, as he makes 0.8 interceptions, 2.2 tackles per game, 3.6 recoveries per game and 1.8 clearances per game.

Sangare’s stats this season.

In terms of duels, he wins 51 per cent of his battles on the ground and 48 per cent of the aerial contests that he attempts.

His numbers are impressive, and it would be a brilliant addition if the Hammers could secure his signature for the base of their engine room, finally bringing the steel and tenacity that they have been lacking.

The only issue may be that he may not want to join the E20 outfit, considering that they have been right down at the bottom with his current club.

He would surely choose the likes of United, Liverpool and Bayern if they firm up their interest, rather than joining the East London side.
