Taty Castellanos’ early exit stance will not surprise West Ham at all as relegation beckons
Taty Castellanos does not want to play in the Championship with West Ham United, according to reports.
The Hammers signed the striker for £26million in the winter window, a bold move from David Sullivan that even he knew was a gamble.
The Argentine came to the London Stadium with no Premier League experience, and that may have harmed the Irons, as it may have taken him too long to settle in.
Regardless, if you’d told any West Ham fan that the former Lazio star would lead the line in E20 next season, they would be happy.
However, Castellanos has no plans to stay at West Ham if the club are relegated, which once again questions the decisions of those upstairs.

Sullivan’s gamble to sign Castellanos can be seen in different ways, as his excellent half volley in the 3-1 loss to Newcastle proves his quality.
The 27-year-old looks like a real asset in the Premier League now, but it might be too little too late to help keep the Hammers up.

The Irons need to raise a reported £100m in player sales this summer if relegation occurs, and Castellanos would add to this figure.
However, as relayed by West Ham Central on X, reports suggest that the striker will be available for a “bargain fee” as he has “no intentions” of playing Championship football.
You can’t blame Castellanos, but it is laughable that Sullivan’s big winter gamble may end up leaving the Hammers for a fraction of what he was bought for, around six months after.
Could West Ham still send Castellanos on loan?
There is a world where Castellanos leaves the Hammers on loan for next season, before possibly returning to the club following an expected promotion.
This may only happen if the Irons raise £100m in sales before his exit, but that is possible through the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville, and more leaving.
Whether Castellanos would be willing to do that is another question, but it’s not a rarity to see recently relegated Premier League sides do this.
One thing is for sure, though, and that West Ham won’t be short of buyers, should the striker be available for cheap this summer.
