West Ham unseen moments vs Brentford: Nuno’s response to fans and Millwall chants

West Ham United fell to a 3-0 defeat away to Brentford on Saturday.

The Irons have just three games left to secure safety, and with Tottenham due to play Aston Villa, they could find themselves in the bottom three by the end of the weekend.

A 3-0 defeat to Brentford perhaps doesn’t paint the entire picture, but it paints the only picture that truly matters at this stage in the season.

It ends a four-game unbeaten run for West Ham, and will be sure to spark more anxiety ahead of the final few games.

However, aside from West Ham suffering a blow to their survival chances, there were several other moments that you may have missed.

West Ham fans fire dig at Millwall’s expense

There is every chance that West Ham and Millwall will lock horns next season, though the league in which the encounter takes place is unknown.

However, if it is to be in the Premier League, Millwall will have to achieve promotion via the play-offs, having missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the Championship season.

Ipswich’s victory over QPR saw them take the last promotion spot, with the Lions now due to face Hull City in the semi-finals.

Given the reaction from Irons supporters, it’s fair to say they will be rooting for the Tigers, after they were heard chanting: “Going to have a party when Millwall fail to get promoted.”

Taty Castellanos frustrations

Taty Castellanos has had some good moments for West Ham, but he has also had several games where things just wouldn’t go his way.

And the clash with the Bees was one of them, with the Argentine hooked in the second half after failing to get on the score sheet again.

Castellanos hit the woodwork twice in the game, with the striker once seen throwing his arms in the air in frustration.

Nuno Espirito Santo will have largely been impressed with his performance, though it just wasn’t his day in front of goal.

Callum Wilson chants answered by Nuno

West Ham fans have often been left wondering what Callum Wilson needs to do to get more of a chance, and that was a similar theme against Brentford.

With the Hammers 2-0 down and struggling to create too much, the travelling supporters were heard chanting his name, seemingly to plead their case that he should be on the pitch.

Nuno opted to make that change in the 65th minute, though to no avail, with the Irons falling to what could be a costly defeat come the end of the season.
