West Ham relegation chances shift as supercomputer makes new Premier League prediction

West Ham United did their survival hopes a world of good with a 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday.

Tomas Soucek opened the scoring before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised, and it looked like the relegation picture was going to flip around, with Tottenham winning at Wolves.

However, Callum Wilson struck a late winner at the London Stadium to give the Hammers a crucial three points on 25 April.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side now sit two points above Tottenham after 34 matches, although Roberto De Zerbi’s side have a better goal difference.

West Ham will be very pleased by a new prediction that has been made about the race for Premier League survival.

What did the supercomputer predict after West Ham win over Everton?

West Ham have turned their form around lately, which has boosted their chances of avoiding the drop at the end of the season.

That is not much of a shift for the Irons’ chances, as they were 37.35 per cent after the Crystal Palace draw, but it does suggest that the Lilywhites have a greater chance, as they had a 44.90 per cent chance beforehand.

Therefore, Nuno’s side’s likelihood have shifted, albeit indirectly.

Why Nuno and Co can’t place their faith in supercomputer

Nuno and his players cannot put too much faith in the supercomputer and its predictions, as things can change on a weekly basis.

All it takes is one bad result, and the Hammers could be the favourites for the drop, so they must not be relieved at what it says.

They need to focus on their matches and secure positive results, and ensure that they are matching what the N17 side does at the very least.

West Ham’s upcoming games

The E20 outfit have difficult fixtures on the horizon, as they still have to play Brentford, Arsenal, Newcastle and Leeds United.

There could still be plenty of twists and turns in the drop battle, and the Hammers cannot take their foot off the gas.

Obviously, they have momentum and are feeling good at the moment, but that could all change with one bad result, especially if Tottenham go above them.
