West Ham player ratings vs Leeds United – Pablo stealing a living, Taty Castellanos stars again

West Ham United’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed despite beating Leeds United 3-0 on Sunday.

The Hammers needed to beat a Leeds side with nothing to play for at the London Stadium and hope that Tottenham lost at home to Everton.

Second-half goals from Taty Castellanos, Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson earned an impressive victory for the Irons, but Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Everton saw them stay up.

It brings an end to the Irons’ 14-year stay in the Premier League, with Championship football returning to East London in August.

West Ham Zone rates each player’s performance out of 10 in the win over Leeds.

Pablo needs to be shown West Ham exit door

Pablo’s West Ham career has not taken off at all since joining in the winter transfer window, with this yet another off-day.

The 22-year-old lasted just 45 minutes against Leeds before being taken off for Wilson at half-time.

He registered just 21 touches of the ball during his time on the field and missed one big chance from his two attempts.

Pablo also lost possession six times and was rightly sacrificed at the break as West Ham lacked any sort of attacking edge.

Nuno Espirito Santo gambled in selecting Pablo to face Leeds, and it was a gamble that did not pay off – even if West Ham did go on to get the win.

Taty Castellanos steps up again for West Ham

Unlike fellow winter arrival Pablo, Castellanos has made his presence felt at the London Stadium since joining.

The Argentina international opened the scoring for the Hammers and has six goals in 18 league games since joining.

Castellanos had four shots in total, scoring from one of those, with that goal coming from an xG of 0.9.

It was a nicely taken header from a corner and lifted the gloom around the ground, albeit fans did not really have much to get excited about due to Spurs never looking like losing against Everton.

With many players expected to depart West Ham this summer, the question now is whether Castellanos will be one of those who stays.
