West Ham United sealed an all-important 2-1 win against Everton on Saturday.

The Hammers welcomed David Moyes back to a London Stadium filled with tension from both sets of supporters.

With relegation and potential European qualification on the line, the two sides had their own reasons to secure victory in East London.

It was Tomas Soucek who looked to have made the difference before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall netted a late equaliser in front of the travelling fans.

There are regular calls suggesting that the Czechia international has gone over the hill and is past his best.

That has resulted in many links away from the London Stadium after six years in claret and blue after his move from Slavia Prague.

Anyone who doubted him has been left to eat their words after he grabbed yet another important goal for the Hammers.

The 31-year-old’s header was excellent to put the hosts ahead as he scored with one of his two shots at the London Stadium.

He also chipped in with three defensive contributions and five duel wins as he helped to nullify Everton’s attacking threat.

Soucek continues to be linked with a West Ham exit, but did all he could to keep his side in the Premier League today.

The 22-year-old certainly plays a positive role for the Irons and makes a nuisance of himself, which has become his job in E20.

That is all well and good, but his lack of quality was on show for all to see at the London Stadium.

He managed just 23 touches and registered just 0.01 in expected goals and assists combined against Everton.

That isn’t really good enough for an attacker, especially one who was dispossessed three times and got dribbled past once.

Pablo adds something to this West Ham side, but it just didn’t really work out against the Toffees in an all-important win.
