Jarrod Bowen leaves Bukayo Saka in dust as West Ham United star worth his weight in gold
Jarrod Bowen remains one of England’s most potent attackers as the West Ham United star tries to keep his side in the Premier League.
Bowen may go down as one of West Ham’s best-ever signings following his move from Hull City in 2020 for around £22million.
Since making his debut in February 2020, the 29-year-old has scored a whopping 84 goals, bagged 60 assists, and notched the winning goal in the Conference League final in 2023.
This season, the England international may be the sole player who can keep West Ham in the Premier League, with Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side just one point above the relegation zone.
Ahead of West Ham’s trip to Crystal Palace on Monday night, Bowen’s importance to the east London outfit has once again come to light.

Jarrod Bowen is West Ham’s talisman
Bowen is West Ham’s best player, their captain, and the man driving them towards safety.
He is far and away their most potent attacker with eight goals and eight assists this season. Without him, West Ham would likely be heading to the Championship.
| West Ham’s biggest threats in the Premier League this season | |
| Jarrod Bowen | 16 goal contributions |
| Crysencio Summerville | Eight goal contributions |
| Callum Wilson | Six goal contributions |
Bowen has scored eight goals from an Expected Goals tally of 6.55 and has eight assists from an Expected Assists total of 4.16.
He has created 11 big chances, averages 1.1 key passes per game, and has a Sofascore season rating of 7.01.
Now, WhoScored has revealed that only Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer have chalked up more goal involvements from English players than Bowen’s 59 in the last three seasons, with Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden languishing behind.
Bowen may be as close to a single-man team in the Premier League this term, and now it is time for his teammates to stand up and deliver if they want to stay up.
Thankfully, they’ve been doing just that.
West Ham at risk of being in two-horse relegation battle
West Ham head to Palace on Monday, hoping to extend their gap to the relegation zone to four points above rivals Tottenham.
They may need it after Spurs put in an improved display in a 2-2 draw against Brighton, while relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and Leeds United both won this weekend.
Leeds are now eight points clear of the bottom three, with Forest three points further back.
West Ham will hope Palace’s Conference League exploits last Thursday took their toll heading into the clash at Selhurst Park.
But if the Eagles come out on top, it could be a battle between West Ham and Tottenham to stay up.
