West Ham Women make Katelin Talbert announcement
West Ham United Women have confirmed that goalkeeper Katelin Talbert has returned from her loan spell at Tottenham.
The Hammers announced via their website on Thursday (2 January) that she will return to East London after her short-term loan spell at Spurs.
Talbert joined Robert Vilahamn’s outfit in the summer until 31 December, before the start of the Women’s Super League campaign, but returns after one sole appearance in North London.
Katelin Talbert returns to West Ham United
The 26-year-old featured for Tottenham in a 2-1 win against Charlton Athletic in Group E of the Subway Women’s League Cup (2 October).
After spending last season on loan with Swedish outfit Djurgardens IF, Talbert was given the opportunity to make an impression in the WSL but now returns to West Ham after a widely unsuccessful spell at Spurs.
Talbert has yet to feature for the Hammers since joining from Portuguese champions Benfica in 2023 and will likely have a decision to make regarding her long-term future at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Kinga Szemik has started all 10 of Rehanne Skinner’s outings in the WSL this term, and despite sitting only three points clear of bottom-place Crystal Palace, a change between the sticks is highly unlikely.

The Irons boss has been quick to show his support for his underperforming players this term and have recently hit his stride, having won three of his last six fixtures across all competitions after remaining winless since the beginning of October.
For Talbert, it is unknown whether she will be given a chance to fight for a place in East London or be sent on a third consecutive loan move for regular playing time, but the next decision will be all-important for the USA shot-stopper.
