Zouma medical at West Ham could be in next 24 hours

Kurt Zouma could have his medical with West Ham within the next 24-48 hours as he closes in on a move from Chelsea, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing on his Patreon page on Wednesday morning, the reliable Hammers insider reported that the club is confident they can sort out a medical for Zouma, 26, in the next couple of days.

It is understood that there are other steps that need to be finalised first but a deal for the French centre-back is advanced.

ExWHUemployee said: “It appears that some of the details that needed sorting out have been and the club now believe that they can get the medical completed within the next 24-48 hours.

“There are a few steps to go plus obvious medical.

“The deal is now more advanced than the [Nikola] Milenkovic one ever was. Let’s hope we finally get an outfield deal over the line.”

He added: “I have been told that not only does [David[ Moyes feel he is securing his number one target, a top-quality centre back, but also a very good lad who will settle into the changing room superbly and be part of the great team spirit that has been created.”

Deal almost done

If West Ham are confident of getting Zouma’s medical sorted within the next 48 hours then they are surely on track to finally agree terms with the defender.

Zouma’s wage demands had been a major stumbling block up until this point but the France international finally looks as though he’s realised that he needs to leave Chelsea this summer.

Or, West Ham could have given in and handed the ex-Stoke and Everton loan star what he wants.

We’re hoping that it’s the player who lowered his demands as it means the deal will get done without spending as much money and it won’t upset players already at the London Stadium who may feel as though they deserve more money than a new signing.

Zouma should be a good signing.

The Frenchman is very experienced in the Premier League and has shown that he’s very capable of playing at a top club in domestic and European competitions.

His experience will be invaluable in the Europa League this season and we really feel as though West Ham have a good chance of making the latter stages of the competition as long as we get the luck of the draw.
